A Winner Crowned, and 3.24 Launches!
Good day Citizens!
After almost two weeks of relentless push and pull of the Ship Showdown, we watched the community contort itself over which ships are not only deserving of a fresh coat of unique paint but to also don the annual crown that is the Showdown Champion of 2954… and we’ve finally achieved resolve! 3.24 is hot on the heels as we enter a new chapter in development.
In fourth place, the mighty Reclaimer triumphed against the tiny Fury LX. For third place the Terrapin triumphed the two-time BIS semifinalist 600i Explorer to achieve its first ever paint! In an epic battle of cliques, the F8C Lightning defeated the C1 Spirit, being awarded first and second place, respectively. Each of these ships reached the semifinals and thus will be awarded the themed livery of the year, to be determined and distributed to owners of these ships come the International Aerospace Expo in late November. Bravo to the winners!
In development news, patch 3.24 has finally been pushed into the LIVE environment Wednesday, after much contention and excitement from the community. The major content established is centric to inventory physicalization and cargo, particularly freight hauling. Alongside the patch came the release of the newest engineering masterpiece from Aegis’ skunkworks, the Aegis Sabre Peregrine: an electrifying rocket designed for the racetrack, markng Aegis’ bold premier into the racing scene.
As with most major updates, there are… problems, that tend to persist from the testing servers, usually due to developers running out of time or technology simply refusing to work with programmers. These latest changes to the game has had mixed emotion from the community; in summary, while many welcome the much needed hauling missions for gameplay content, many others see the physicalized inventory system is too time consuming and risky with the amount of instability with the servers and freight elevator functionality.
A lot of players also see the prolonged testing period of 3.24 as the main cause of delay of the testing and implementation of 4.0, and to much disappointment was confirmed to be the case in a recent Progress Tracker reveal. What was initially projected as a Q3 launch, 4.0 and Pyro was indeed pushed back to Q4, presumably before the latter half of December at the latest.
A very busy couple of weeks up until now, and while many players settle in to 3 24, there’s a very watchful eye on CIG for what their next move will be, or rather, when. With CitizenCon soon incoming, players are curious how much of a drought of info there will actually be, concerning 4.0 testing. We shall see!
Until next time Citizens, cheers!
