CARGO KEEPS THE VERSE ALIVE

Cargo hauling and trading are vital to the UEE’s economy, offering lucrative career opportunities through hauling contracts and commodity trading. Although cargo missions come with risks from pickup to delivery, they can be highly profitable with the right expertise, equipment, and ship.

YOUR GUIDE TO CARGO AND TRADE

Cargo hauling in Star Citizen requires transporting various types of goods using specialized ships. While larger cargo ships offer more storage, they come with higher operational costs and require more resources. Moreover, different types of cargo have distinct handling requirements, with some being more profitable but riskier. To maximize profits, players need to choose efficient trading routes that avoid high-risk areas and reduce exposure. Use this space to add a short description.

In addition, players can engage in various mission types, such as delivery contracts or trade runs, depending on their available ships and objectives. By carefully planning routes, managing resources, and understanding market dynamics, players can ensure profitability and minimize potential losses in their cargo hauling endeavors.

UNDERSTANDING CARGO CONTRACTS

Hauling contracts involve transporting cargo for a third party. You deliver goods from one location to another. Each contract has different cargo types, quantities, and distances. You can choose jobs based on your ship’s capacity and your preferences. Many players like hauling because it has lower risks than trading or mining. To start hauling, open the Contract Manager in your mobiGlas [F1] and go to the hauling tab to see available contracts. Each contract provides important details. You will see cargo type, pickup and drop-off locations, and any special conditions. Read every detail before accepting a contract. Check your ship’s cargo space. Ensure you have the right tools. Plan carefully to avoid mistakes. Good preparation helps you complete jobs successfully and earn more credits.

PREPARE FOR CARGO PICK UP

Head to the location (indicated by a yellow HUD marker) to pick up the cargo as stated in your mission contract. Land your ship at the location’s hangar and position your ship’s cargo bay close to a freight elevator near the corner of your hangar. Interact with the freight elevator’s terminal to lower the elevator, move your mission cargo from right to left, and call the elevator back up. Begin loading your cargo onto your ship with either your multitool tractor beam, MAXLift tractor gun, ATLS mech, or ship-mounted remote tractor beam. As you are moving boxes to your cargo grid, holograms will indicate that your box will “snap” to the grid, locking it in place on your ship. Once fully loaded, board your ship, call for ATC clearance to leave, and begin hauling to your destination!

DELIVER CARGO TO DESTINATION

Set your course for the drop-off location via your Map tab [F2] in your mobiGlas. Watch your radar for threats: pirates or hostile NPCs may try to attack so stay alert during your journey between stations. Land at the delivery point. Follow the contract’s unloading instructions. Ensure the cargo is delivered properly to complete your mission. Ensure that all cargo is delivered as specified to complete the contract successfully. Once you’ve unloaded all required items at the destination, payment will automatically be credited to your account based on contract terms… and your haul is complete!

Hauling cargo can be a very relaxing game loop… or it could be a disastrous fiasco. It all depends on how much you plan ahead and anticipating bugs and glitches that can interrupt gameplay. Hauling in Star Citizen 4.0 is a great way to earn credits. It lets you explore the universe while making money. Picking the right ship is important. Planning trade routes helps you save time and increase profits. Managing cargo properly ensures successful deliveries. Hauling is safer than other jobs, but challenges exist. Pirates, cargo bugs, and time limits can cause problems.
