From Commander to Citizen
My humble beginnings in a Sidewinder leaving Chamberlain’s Rest for the first time was not long ago from today when you read this. Elite Dangerous: Odyssey was my first dip into the bottomless pit that is space simulation gaming. This was 2021 during a military deployment to Kuwait with lots of free time to delve into such a thing. I soon found my passion with freedom of flight, seeing all the places and doing all the things, with my beloved Gutamaya Imperial Cutter, LPD Deep Messenger, leading the way across the Black taking me beyond my childhood dreams of gaming. Little did I know that Star Citizen, which was well into development during my infancy, was going to eventually swoop me off my feet.
DSSA and the Pioneer Program
Years later, after fortunes made as part of the Pilots Trade Network (PTN), I find myself owning many fleet carriers (today the Carrier Group Pioneer) with not the faintest idea of what to do with them! Should I haul? Smuggle? Provide combat support? Its sort of hard to even explore the stars with so many, despite it being my favorite way to pass time… It was with further culmination of thought that I should throw in my resources to the Deep Space Support Array (DSSA). Therefore, I excitedly signed up with a pair of reserve carriers, Pioneer III (T1K-8TJ) and Pioneer VI (T6T-62F), 47th in line, eager to lend the helping hand to the wayward CMDR out on the farthest reaches of the galaxy!
A year passes by, and in 2023 after moving to 32nd in line I further culminated my thoughts… and decided to independently form my own Squadron. The Pioneer Project is named with likeness to the idea of the synopsis of an old game I used to play on Nintendo GameCube called Phantasy Start Online: Ep I & II. It is designed to provide deep space support to expeditionary pilots while (in roleplay fashion) assisting efforts to locate Earth-like Worlds (ELW) during the Thargoid Invasion of 3308. The Squadron still provides support today, with eight carriers spanning the circumference of the galaxy.
Exodus and Discovery
I had seen videos of Star Citizen and heard rumors of it being a scam throughout its development. I took any info I had with a pinch of salt, as I naturally like to investigate to my conclusions. I’ve also seen a good size exodus of Elite players over time migrate to Star Citizen, recognizable names even, such as CMDR Kate (Now Citizen Kate), the Thargoid-killing Anti-Xeno ace. So, it goes without saying I investigated this game further. The PTN has an awesome community. Within its Discord server there’s a small channel populated with a small number of pilots that play Star Citizen. It wasn’t long after asking a few questions that it immediately intrigued my interests.
“You can make your own gameplay?
The graphics are much more beautiful?
There are ship INTERIORS?
I’m sold. I HAVE to try this out.”
Citizenship
Sure enough, Star Citizen took my breath away. Countless times. Sometimes it was due to me forgetting to put my helmet on before entering a vacuum. Despite its many fallacies, Star Citizen was everything I was looking for in a game that Elite was partially giving me: immersion gameplay. I can NOT wait for the day that we have to manage our hygiene, that’s how much I want this game to be immersive. In fact, it was just that for me.
And in due time, with utter disregard to the advice of many (who are quite guilty of becoming one themselves), I became a whale. And the rest is history!
Having gained my citizenship in the year 2953 during Invictus Launch Week, I’m still relatively new to the Verse. But as an active player I’ve become modestly seasoned in most of the gameplay, save for combat. Never been a combat pilot… and it’ll show. Trade, freight, exploration, medical, simple free flying… these are where I find my joy. I’m mostly a solo player, finding fun in helping others and minding to my own universe, but with friends made in the PTN we’ve grown to enjoy the comradery and spend time here and there with the occasional event. You can also find me in-game probably in my favorite ship, the Origin 600i Explorer, LPD Deep Messenger, the Star Citizen reincarnation of my beloved Imperial Cutter.

Citizen SnoochyBoochy
While newer to the Verse, I am generally experienced in space simulation games with beginnings in Elite Dangerous. An avid hauler, medic, explorer, photographer, and simple joyrider, I found my home on Star Citizen, enjoying the next-level beauty and immersion that it has to offer!

Become a Backer
With its humble beginnings as a small crowd-sourced idea followed with a successful Kickstarter campaign, to the massively grossed immersive space simulation live in developmental alpha testing, Star Citizen welcomes players from all walks of life to contribute to its development.
