Argo MOTH Released, Free Flight Begins!

Star Citizen sees its newest addition to the ship roster with the release of the Argo MOTH (Multi Operator Targeted Harvester) as it continues to barrel towards a more defined industrial game loop. With Coramor firing up hearts and hard drives, this month also sees the return of a seasonal Free Flight event, allowing players new to the Verse to not only create a free account as usual but also to jump right into the game for free without the purchase of a game package! Let’s dive into the details of this orange and pink ordeal!

Argo Astronautics unveiled their newest addition to their ship lineup, with many longtime fans adoring the familiar chassis. Based on the Argo MOLE (Multi Operator Laser Extractor), the MOTH takes the same platform and removes the mining heads and ore refinery and replaces them with salvage heads and a salvage refinery, taking the scope of the ship from mining to salvage entirely. Some physical changes were made to the chassis base, such as an overhaul of the ore saddle backs for a vertically oriented, dual stacked cargo grid attached to a refinement ejector nestled above, allowing for the seamless, hands-free processing of salvage materials into contained product for shipping or further refinement. Alongside this framework, a separate cargo elevator is emplaced for the more unique pieces of salvage such as weapons or components. The most visible differences can be seen with the addition of two large salvage arms for fracturing and disintegrating ship hulls for construction materials, and a remote missile turret on the very top of the ship for defense of your worksite.

At $315 ($290 Warbond discount), this comes at a premium price tag comparable to its mining variant predecessor of the same price. However, this vessel serves now serves as the central choice for salvagers who find the Drake Vulture or MISC Fortune too light of work and the Aegis Reclaimer as a way to get your steps in from the processing room to the cockpit. For those looking to get your hands on the specs, take a look at the liveries made available for it, and consider adding to their fleet, check it out here!
